For over 18 years, Matt has been immersed in the convergence of digital media, entertainment, and brand. Currently the CEO of Genome Digital, whose first 6 years include working with clients including, Verizon, iRobot, Maserati, United Airlines, Target, Major League Soccer, the NFL and many others. During this time Genome has been the recipient of a number of industry awards for everything from web experiences, to live event experiential work, to gaming, and large scale systems.
Before starting Genome, Matt was the EVP / GM of the digital agency startup HYFN that after 3 years of rocket growth, was acquired by LIN Media (NYSE: LIN), a broadcast television company. At HYFN Matt was responsible for overseeing business development, operations, and client services and worked directly with clients including Google, Microsoft, Intuit, Levi’s, Pepsi, and many others. While at HYFN the company was the recipient of numerous awards including, the 2012 OMMA Award for Best B2B initiative (Google Gomo), the 2012 Golden Tweet Award (Wendy's), and the 2012 Promo Award (Olympus Pen Ready Campaign).
Prior to joining HYFN Matt was the head of digital for Disney Music Group where he was responsible for the digital business and content deals for Hollywood Records, Lyric Street Records and Walt Disney Records. The roster of these labels include such artists as: The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Rascal Flatts, Breaking Benjamin, Plain White T’s, and Selena Gomez, in addition to the franchise properties such as: Tron, High School Musical, Hannah Montana, and many others. While at Disney I also co-produced "Everybody Wants to Be a Cat: Disney Jazz, Vol 1" a collection of Disney standards re-imagined by jazz artists including Grammy award-winning Esperanza Spaulding, Gil Goldstein, Dave Brubeck, Joshua Redman, the Bad Plus, Regina Carter, Gilad Hekselman and many others.
Matt holds degrees in both Jazz Performance and Music Business from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. He is a voting member of the Grammy's and the CMA's. He is also an active speaker, company advisor, and product development consultant.
